With the closing of borders, the closing of campus doors and a switch to virtual, students are feeling anxious and uncertain about what their future holds.
This is why Communiteer is partnering with Australian Volunteers International to provide meaningful volunteering opportunities for students, with corporate mentors to guide them through.
Pathway to Employment is our answer to the youth employment crisis, connecting students to corporate volunteers from industry leaders in a mentoring program. This program will generate skill-building relevant to their studies, form networking opportunities with not-for-profits and corporates, and improve overall employability.
While Communiteer brings our not-for-profit and corporate connections, AVI will bridge our introduction to the university community and utilise their 70 years of experience in empowering young people with the tools they need to change the world.
AVI (formerly Australian Volunteers International) was born out of the student volunteering movement. Herb Feith, from the University of Melbourne, pioneered international volunteering as a translator in Indonesia, later establishing the early incarnations of AVI.
Their volunteering programs create impact on an international scale, sending students to developing communities and forging global citizens with social awareness and practical skills relevant to their studies. Now we have the opportunity to focus that energy domestically while travel is limited.
Engage your students with new learning experiences, scale your domestic work-integrated learning initiatives, improve employability ranking, and create a thriving university community with students, alumni and partners.
Join this community and enable education today for change tomorrow.
