Spotlight: Batyr

Communiteer is collaborating with Batyr to tackle mental health!

We’re really excited to have Batyr join our community! They are a For-Purpose organisation that focuses on mental wellness, tackling the stigma surrounding mental ill health and empowering young people to reach out for support. Created and driven by young people, Batyr helps create communities that support young people’s mental health and wellbeing.

The batyr@school program aim to remove the stigma around mental health and engage, educate and empower young people to reach out for support when they need it. Research shows that the best approach to reducing the stigma surrounding mental health is through direct contact with peers who have experienced similar struggles. This program plays an important role in breaking down this stigma and bridging the gap between young people and the wide array of services available to them.

The batyr@uni program act as a bridge between students and avenues of help, assisting them to take that first and crucial step of getting help. Batyr speakers share their personal stories of difficult times, educating the students about the first hand benefits of reaching out, the avenues which are available to them both on and off campus, and how best to help themselves or someone else facing similar situations.

Batyr is creating impact through their contribution towards the following United Nations Sustainable Development Goals:

Together with your help, we can help reduce the harm of mental illness and make a lasting impact on mental wellness.
