Asylum Seeker Resources - Volunteers Cooking

Meet the Asylum Seeker Resource Centre, the largest human rights organisation in Australia that provides support to people seeking asylum.

About the Asylum Seeker Resource Centre

The Asylum Seeker Resource Centre is a not-for-profit organisation, where all proceeds go back into their programs that support and empower people seeking asylum. They strongly believe in championing the rights of asylum seekers and strive to create social and policy change.

They started as a TAFE project in 2001 and began as a student-run and community-funded Foodbank with a few boxes of food. Now they have grown to deliver the most on-the-ground services out of all other independent asylum seeker organisations in Australia, with more than 40 programs and assisting ~7000 people every year.

Want to help Asylum Seeker Resource Centre?

Volunteers are the lifeblood of the Centre! They are always looking for more volunteers to strengthen the organisation and create positive change for people seeking asylum. ASCR has a range of volunteering opportunities from skilled volunteering as a lawyer to generalised help in admin and at their Foodbank.

You can experience the energetic and passionate community of their volunteers and staff by jumping on the Communiteer platform and joining the community to stay up to date and to let them know you’d like to help them using your skills!
